Flat Bar

We have in stock a large range of Flat bar, sometimes call Flat Mild Steel, in stock. Flat Bar is made in 6.0m length with some of the smaller sizes in 4.0m lengths. It is a mild steel so it is easier to cut, bend, drill and will weld easy with a Mig or Stick welder. We will cut to any size.

Angles

Angles are made as an Equal angle, where both sides are the same length or they are Unequal angles with one side longer than the other. Also made from Mild steel to be used in general metal fabrication. Small angles up to 25 x 25 x 3 are made in 6.0m lengths and most of the others are 7.5m length

Solid Rounds and Squares

Solid rounds are used a lot to make pins and Blacksmiths use it for a lot of their projects.
It is Mild steel so it is easy to bend and roll to make a Basket Ball ring or Netball hoop. The lengths come in 6.0m lengths and the thinner ones or 4.0m.
Sizes available in round and square. 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16,18, 20, 24mm.

Bright round or Shafting

Bright round is used in the engineering industry when the round bar needs to have a machined surface that a bearing can slide on. Often used for axels or put in a lathe and turned to whatever is required. You can get Bright shaft in metric and imperial sizes and we keep most sizes from 3mm to 75mm or 1/8 to 3 inches. Bright squares can be bought in.

Structural Steel

If you are building a house or extension and the builder has asked you to get the steel work please bring your plans in to us. When you need Universal Beams – UB, Universal Columns UC, Parallel Flange Channels PFC and the large Angles give us a call. They are sold in 9m, 10m, 12m and 15m so try and work out the best option to save you money. Quiet often cleats and hole need to be added the steel work which we can do for you.

Plain and Chequer Plate

We have Mild steel Plate available to be cut to any size you need. Our Plasma cutter cuts a nice clean cut and we can even cut circles if required. Plate sizes vary and most are 1200 wide and 2.4,3.0 and 6.0m long.
Thickness available. 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 24mm

Sheets Steel

We stock Hot rolled and Cold rolled sheet which is the black sheet that requires painting. We have Galv. Sheet and Zincaneal which is very good to paint over. We have Sign white which the sign writers use and great to cover in the Camping trailer. We have some Perforated sheet which has small holes or diamonds cut out of if which is used for lot of different things. The sheet sizes 1200 x 2400.
Sheet thickness available. 0.8, 1.0, 1.6, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0mm

RHS and SHS Tube

Rectangular Hollow section (RHS) and Square Hollow section (SHS) is our biggest seller. You can make anything with it and is easy to uses. The range is big and are made in 6.5m lengths up to 25 x 25 and 8.0m length for most of the others. The big sections can be bought in 12m lengths. Thickness. 9, 10, 12.5, 16 mm.

Pipes and Tubes

We have a large range of Galv. and Black pipe in stock up to 50mm NB and we buy in any other size. Pipe is difficult to measure as it is work out from the Nominal Bore and is measured from the inside bore which is rounded up or down to a size.
The next size that is important is the thickness of the wall of the pipe and this lets us know what to call the pipe.

• 2mm is an Extra light Pipe. You can get all sizes up to 50NB
• 2.5mm is a Light Pipe or the old name a Structural pipe. Use to make gates and all sorts. Can get this up to 50NB
• 3.0mm is a Medium Pipe or the old name Water Pipe. This thick enough to put a thread on it. Good to bend
• 4.0mm is a Heavy Pipe. This pipe is mainly sold in it Black form.
